  • 213 receive Intensive In-Home Supports, which includes children on special Medicaid Waivers who require significant levels of assistance because of behavior or medical needs.

Over 700 children with developmental disabilities currently live outside their family home, including:

  • 502 live in foster care.
  • 140 live in group homes.
  • 59 live in nursing homes.

Children and families waiting for services

  • Outreach to identify children with developmental disabilities is minimal because there are few public services to offer.
  • Over 2,258 children are currently identified as eligible but not receiving Family Support services.
  • Many children with high needs have applied for Intensive In-Home Supports but have not been able to access these services. The program is limited to a small number of children with the most significant disabilities, and many children do not meet the strict eligibility criteria.
