Take Action Now! Critical Services to Children are Being Eliminated!

The current budget reductions will eliminate important services to families who have children under the age of 18.  Legislators and local officials need to hear how important these services are to families in Oregon who have children with developmental disabilities!!! Please act now! Click on the “Find your Legislators” link on the side bar and send a personal note to explain how cuts to services will impact your family and/or other families you know. The programs being eliminated for children with developmental disabilities include: PC 20; Long Term In-Home Support; Family Support; Case Management for Children (dramatic reduction); and Lifespan Respite (local grants).

Action Needed: Contact Your Legislators Now!

Sample message: “Services to families who have children with developmental disabilities are a critical lifeline to keeping those children in the family home! These services provide respite care, in-home assistance, consultation and other critical supports. Some families will simply collapse without these supports! Restore Long Term In-Home Support #19; Family Support #7; and Children’s Case Management #25.  These programs are located in DHS/ Seniors and People with Disabilities. (The numbers refer to their location on the Governor’s 9% Allotment Reduction documents.) Services have helped our family by…  Without services, my family will likely….”
